Boney M. –alman qrupudur. Qrupun yaranma tarixi çox qeyri adidir. Beləki alman prodüsseri Frenk Farian(Frank Farian.) yeni diska stili yaratmaq üzərində işlər aparır. O qeyri-adi Baby Do You Wanna Bump?mahnısını ərsəyə gətirir və 1975-ci ildə onu Boney M. ləqəbi adı altında tamaşaçılara təqdim edir. Bu ad o zaman məhşur olan Avstraliya detektiv serialının qəhrəmanına məxsus idi. Kompazisiyanı o özü ifa edir. Frenk Farian Europa Sound Studiyasında səsini bir neçə variantda sintez edir bu kompazisiya duet şəklində olur, yəni həm qız həm də oğlan səsləri bu singlı bəzəyir. Lakin gözlənilməz hal baş verir. Musiqi sevərlər bu mahnını çöx bəyənirlər, eləcə də bir çox studiyalardan təkliflər gəlir. Bu halda produsser qrup yaratmaq qərarına gəlir.
Meyzi Vilyams, Şeyla Bonnik, Natali və rəqqas Maykın daxil olduqları qrup Boney M. adı altında müvəqqəti fəaliyyətə başlayır. Qrupun əsas formalaşmış üzvləri isə 1976-ci ildə Liz Mitşell, Marsiya Barret, rəqqasə Meyzi Vilyams və rəqqas Bobbi Farrell bir yerdə işləməyə başladılar. Musiqilərdəki əsas hissələri Farianla birlikdə Liz və Marsiya ifa edirdilər.
